순차제어기는 발전기의 회전상태를 감시하여 설정된 시간(발전기의 회전수 및 위상)에 각종 스위치류의 동작 지령을 on/off 스위치 신호로 발생시키는 장치이다. 신호의 제어는 프로그램 셋팅에 의해서 설정이 가능하며 설정된 시퀀스 신호는 광케이블을 통해 시험장 및 발전기동에 전송되어 전기적인 ON/OFF신호를 발생시킨다.

가. Hardware
- Available stand-alone or integrated with Saturn Transient Recorder (DAS)
- Different configurations with 8 inputs and up to 192 outputs available
- Different main chassis with 8, 16, 32 or 64 directly integrated outputs
- Additionally (or alternatively) two external output racks, each with up to 64 outputs (each rack connected to the main chassis via a single fiber cable)
- Choose between perfect galvanic isolation via fiber optic (ST or HFBR Versatile Link), standard BNC or special custom connectors (selectable in groups of 8 inputs/outputs)
- Input/output monitoring LED for each signal
- Precise independent clock source for 40ns time steps width and 20ppm accuracy
- Supports synchronization with an externally supplied analog input signal including different types of zero crossing prediction (e.g. generator frequencies like 16 2/3Hz .. 50Hz .. 60Hz .. 400Hz .. or other)
- Automatic synchronization to rotating systems by using digital input signals for zero-crossing and rotation pulses (up to 2500ppr @400Hz, 20000ppr @50Hz)
- Operating System independent clock and sequence processor
- Special developed MIMD processor to handle multiple real parallel actions and reactions
- Trigger synchronization from and to external measurement units
- Free programmable input signals for Start, Arm (Pilot), Stop, Break
- Emergency-Stop Push-Button (integrated at the front or externally connected)
