Chromatography is the separation of a mixture of
compounds into individual components.
There are three major steps involved with separating and
identifying components of a mixture using a GC. They are:
1 Injecting a sample into the GC. (This takes place at the
inlet.)
2 Separating the sample into individual components. (This
takes place inside the column in the oven.)
3 Detecting what compounds were in the sample. (This is
done in the detector.)
Retention Time Locking (RTL) maintains exact retention times from injection to injection, column to column, instrument to instrument, and lab to lab
Capillary Flow Technology (CFT) provides unique instrument capabilities, such as multi-dimension gas chromatography (GC-GC/Deans Switch), comprehensive two-dimension gas chromatography (GCxGC) with flow modulation, and backflush at the beginning, middle, or end of the analytical column
